On Friday, December 9, 2022, in company’s headquarters, a conference entitled “Poland’s energy policy in the aspect of threats to the development of the textile sector” was held.
The event was attended by owners and specialists from Zakład Włókienniczy Biliński, representatives of the Łódź branch of the Polish Textile Association, as well as invited guests engaged in energy and textile-related topics.
The discussion focused on the current situation in the energy sector, both locally and globally, ongoing and planned investments and their impact on the development of textile-oriented enterprises.
The mentioned projects are dependent on the energy policy pursued by the European Union, which includes decarbonization, or the shift away from coal and the increase in production from renewable sources. Nuclear energy is also considered, but decisions and investments in this area are linked to the individual situation of each EU member country. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the current sanctions against Russia, one of the main natural gas exporters, are also significant factors.
Faced with the growing energy crisis in the world, the question is not only about the methods of generating energy, but also about how to store it and increase production.
Energy transformation encompasses technological, economic, social, and environmental aspects. The textile industry, which is closely dependent on various sources and types of energy, faces the challenge of rising production costs and the need for innovations to maintain the competitiveness of companies.
